ORCHID CARE

These orchids are grown in a tropical climate. While great care has been taken to ensure that the blooms remain fresh throughout, some loss of moisture is bound to occur during transportation.

Carefully selected for their colour and quality, these blooms can last for two weeks if proper care is given.

After taking delivery, we recommend that you follow these steps to restore freshness.

Step 1

Wow! A gift box of Singapore orchids for me? What a pleasant surprise!

STEP 1

Open the gift box immediately. Remove the stalks from the container and place the orchids in a cool place of about 10 to 15 degree Celsius.

Here's a breath of life for you,
my pretty ones!

STEP 2

Spray a mist of water onto the stalks to restore refreshness.

Snip! Snip! For a good cause. Then it's bath time.

STEP 3

To help them last longer, cut half an inch off the stem of each stalk. Immerse the cut orchids in warm water for about 20 to 30 minutes.

Now in glorious beauty for all to see.

STEP 4

Put the orchids in a vase of water, preferably at 40 degree Celsius. Keep them in an environment with natural humidity. Avoid placing in a room with central heating.

Choose only the unblemished flowers. Take care not to knock off the pollen when you handle the flower. If the pollen fall off, the flower fades quickly and gives off a gas. In an enclosed space, for example a gift box, the flowers around it will fade.

To refresh the flowers, make an oblique cut on the stem under the water and leave it to soak for a few hours. Remove the blooms singly if they are to be used for buttonholes, bouquets and garlands.
